Thai Grave
The Thai tribes (1.4% of the population)
who live in wooden houses on stilts, do not
bury their dead but instead put them in a
grave on stilts. (Fake) money, gold, and
rice are laid in the grave with the body
and the tomb is protected by some of the
person’s clothing hung outside the
grave. They purchase printed fake dollars
from the markets to leave in the grave. These
graves are generally ‘hidden’
from full view in a copse or wild area.
